There's this thing, this theory, I have. You see, Revlon, as amazing as the brand might be, is a complete flop with the people here. Yes, a flop. Flop = A complete failure. Why, you ask? You see, until very recently, Halle Berry had been the face of almost all their campaigns and while it is such a milestone for a celebrity, it doesn't interest my people. What they're interested in seeing is a familiar, more relate-able face rather than someone of substance like Halle. So, when Emma Stone became the face of Revlon, the brand was finally here - and it was here to stay. Having such a beautiful history (they still have some products, formulation, packaging and colours that were present since its inception) Revlon is easily your best bet when you want products of high quality within a good price range.
The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains (what a mouthful, whew) is definitely one of the best lip products out there at the moment. It comes in 10 shades (it actually differs from country to country; there are originally 12 shades) that are suitable for all skin tones. The packaging is extremely adorable and hassle-free due to its twist-up nature. It, to be honest, looks like crayons; which is just so much fun! They have the pout-perfecting powers of a lipstick and the nourishing qualities of a lip balm. So, I kind of always something that wouldn't transfer even after blotting, something that wouldn't bleed and something that would last after endless flasks of orange juice. This is it. They glide on like a dream and smell like peppermint, which is an extreme high for me, because I love anything minty and fresh. For 600 INR, you get what you pay for. And, plus, you won't be hearing any complaints from whoever you try to kiss!
I bought my first Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain back in July. It was a birthday present to myself, of sorts. So, yeah, that explains its sad condition at the moment. It has stood by me through every storm, every quake. Called '025 Sweetheart', this stain is a vibrant hot pink, fuchsia, if you will, and is extremely stunning. With just one application, you get a ton of pigmentation. However, more layering adds even more zing to it. Perfect to wear to parties and events, right? Not only that. If you just dab on a little on the center of your lips and spread it across, you will get a lip colour so beautiful that you'd want to wear it everyday. The best part is, you can wear it everyday. Well, you can clearly see how well-loved mine is.
The next one is something I bought for my mother. She likes her lip colours dark and powerful, not completely drab colours, though. She likes a bit of brightness to them. Enter '055 Adore', a wonderful brownish red. It's such a beautiful night colour and it's just meant for autumn and winter. It is a little sheer and needs a bit of layering to get the opacity of a lipstick. This makes an amazing resent to all the girls who like to rock a dark lip, which reminds me, I must get this as a gift for one of my girls. Sigh. My brain.
Just imagine, it's summer, you're drinking your favourite, uh, drink and just kicking back, relaxing, in your summer attire and rocking a gorgeous orange lip. '040 Rendezvous' just may help you accomplish that. It is a rich orange when built up. It goes on sheer at first but after a couple of thin layers, you can go from a soft, subtle orange lip to an in-your-face orange lip. The choice is yours. From the pictures, you can see that I haven't gotten around to using it much because I bought it right when it started cooling down. It's such a great investment.
